My Biography
My name is Rev. Jacob Nhial Guut, A Sudanese by Nationality; I was born in Jan 1st 1982, in a village called Adumwuor to a man called John Guut Amol Guut and a lady called Mary Bol Alier. I am the 3rd born of a family of two sisters namely, Abuk John Guut and Ajah John Guut and one brother called Abel Chol John Guut. Both my father and my mother were farmers and cattle keepers.

As I said, I was born in Lualdit -Adumwuor Clan (Sudan) and lived there from birth to 1987 and then migrated to Ponyido (Ethiopia) due to the war broke in Sudan in May 16th, 1983. In 1987 we walked for fifteen (15) days by foot, facing difficulties i.e. eating tree leaves and roots, in which many of us lost their lives through poisonous leafs and attacks from wild animals, thirst. I lived in Ponyido from the year 1987 to 1991 where many people died due to disease outbreak, The president of Ethiopia was overthrown in 1991 after which I left for Gilo where many colleagues of mine lost their lives through being drawn in to the River Gilo as the enemies were chasing us.
We settled at Pochalla (Sudan) where we stayed for half a month without food as the Red Cross and UNHCR came in support of food and medication. In the same year the enemies attacked Pochalla which made us move to different places, from Pochalla to Boma, Magoes (we were shot at night and three people died instantly) and settled again in Kapoeta in search of security which was also attacked in 1992 and led us to Narus, Nadapal (Sudan) and Lokichogio (Kenya).
After which we arrived to Lokichogio (Kenyan, Sudan border) UNHCR came in and moved us to Kakuma (Kenya) on 27th July 1992. I lived in Kakuma from 1992 to 2006. Due to insecurity, I moved from Kakuma and went to Nairobi (Kenya) from January 2007 up to date. I am currently living in Nairobi with my family.
