About Sudanese Youth Opportunity (SYO)
In 2003, under the guidance of Hope With Sudan, Peter Nyok, Lost Boy of Sudan, started his orphan education program.
Beginning in 2004, Peter returned to his home village with his wife Yar, and gathered up starving orphans to take back to Nakuru, Kenya where they rent apartments, enroll them in school and hire a woman to cook one meal a day for them.
In April 2009, Peter rescued 20 more students from the “war torn” southern Sudan village.
Peter’s orphans are refugees living in Kenya and must pay to attend school because they are not native Kenyans.
Sudanese Youth Opportunity is an education project for Peter’s orphans operating under Hope With Sudan, a non-profit corporation recognized as tax exempt by the State of California & 501(c)3 non-profit Tax ID #26-1713611.
